Daniel Mariño is a Drama Facilitator and Voice Actor with over ten years of experience. He runs drama, clown and creative play sessions with participants ranging from 0-99 years old and specialises in working with disabled people.
He trained at the Escuela Superior de Arte Dramático in Asturias, Spain, and completed an MA in Applied Theatre at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in London. He has enriched his practice by attending courses in Puppetry at Little Angel Theatre, Reiki at Reiki Academy London and also studied intensively with Philippe Gaulier in the art of Clowning.
Daniel has been working for Half Moon Theatre since 2017 and works as a Lead Tutor across 3 Youth Theatres (ages 5-8). He supports the delivery of Creative Play Sessions for Early Years in community centres in Tower Hamlets and provides assitance for Solar, a specialist group for disabled teenagers. He also co-leads a drama group for elderly people run by London Bubble Theatre.
In 2019 Daniel received a Jack Petchey Foundation Leader Award to recognise his work at Half Moon Theatre. He is very proud of this because he was nominated for it by the young people he works with. Their talent, creativity, hard work and determination inspire him every day.
As Drama Facilitator he has also worked for companies such as: The Old Vic Theatre, Emergency Exit Arts, Access All Areas, Teatro SEA NYC, Little World Theatre and The Orpheus Centre. Daniel is also a highly skilled Voice Actor and has delivered commercial, corporate and educational voiceover projects – both in English and Spanish – for a number of international companies such as BBC One, Disney, Hasbro, Netflix, Universal, Danone, Fairtrade UK, CeX, Oxford University Press and Cambridge University Press, amongst others.
