The aim of this supplementary teaching is to encourage and motivate students to leap into a second language through drama. All their plays are performed by foreign actors in their native tongue and they stand out for being very interactive and having a lot of audience participation. Daniel has participated – both as an actor and drama facilitator – in the following productions: La Camarera (2015), Masterchefs (2014) and Sherlock (2013).

Teatro SEA, New York

In 2015 The Leverhulme Trust granted Daniel an award that allowed him to facilitate at bilingual arts-in-education company Teatro SEA in New York. SEA aims to develop an educational theatre and arts programme that challenges and creates possible solutions for social issues affecting the Hispanic community, intending to strengthen cultural identity and give a voice to young people.

Daniel had a very hands-on role during his stay at SEA and he was given the opportunity to help and get experience in all its departments. Some of these tasks included technical support in school performances, assisting the director with a musical production, office administration and community outreach, among many others.
